I manage the Department of Epidemiology website. In its current state the Department uses the School’s WordPress CMS. This provides several advantages, such as University and School branding and standardized department look. It also has some disadvantages… there is no javascript or database support other than that which is built into the CMS but not available to the average editor.

I have provided some additional functionality by using off-site links to provide custom Department support for faculty, staff, and students. Some of those custom options are here:

• Adjunct Faculty listings are driven by a MySQL database and a staff interface for updates (Adjunct Faculty tab).
• A Research Assistantship Dashboard driven by a MySQL database allowing potential student RAs to enter and update their applications and faculty to review and generate reports on all or selected candidates.
• Interface to limited access SharePoint site (Onyen restricted) for Faculty Policy Memos.
